Early BE Grade Fox

Post by Mills »

I bought this project BE off the Double gun shop forum. It was missing the butt plate/recoil pad and had some crude engraving on the floor plate. I had Brad Bachelder put a Silvers pad on it and remove the crude engraving. You can't tell the engraving was ever there now. It has some scuffs and wear which I have left on for the time being, at least. It has 28" barrels which are original and proved to be a great shooter at the gun club this weekend.

It is light like an upland gun, but at Full/Full, it is probably better for something more long range. It did well on clays.

Nice cover up

I will never understand that

It's like all the old Hardy Perfect reels you come across

Someone spends good money on a top of the line reel -
then scratches their initials into it with a dull rusty nail

Pay an engraver a couple bucks

The pictures don't really do justice. You can't tell the engraving was ever there. Brad did a good job

Great gun! I've been looking for a full and full myself. Even found one with 32" barrels but was 2 hours late in buying it. I was beaten to the punch!

I love the early Foxes. I have an early A and B now and have an early C on my wish list.

It would make a great Teal gun. Like I said, I only wish it had arrived a week earlier for the dove opener. It would have been perfect for the hunt I was on.
