I'll look around here to see what there is. I have some old paper 16 shells the you would probably love to shoot. My buddy limited out quickly with a box. Would love to meet up with you sometime, though, even if it's not dove season. If I get down that way I'll give you a heads up, in season or out.
I'm just puttering around the house early this morning, but shooting doves this afternoon on the edge of Waynesboro with some friends. I've really got to make my mind up which pad to put on the 30" AE 16 ga. I bought from a friend's estate last spring. It letters as having been shipped with a Silvers, and I bought two of the London Silvers, a red and an orange, but the plugs are so big on the things I am just afraid it won't look right on there. They're $70 pads, so I want to be sure before I grind it down. Sure wish I could find a quality Silvers with smaller plugs. I want to shoot this gun on doves really bad. It's a beauty.
Thanks again, 67.
All my best, SRH

Re: 2016 Dove season
Thanks. I bought a really big lot of old 16 ga. shells several years ago, and have used most of them up in my 16 ga. Smith. Need to watch the auctions for some more.

Bill, what are the "London Guns" pads you speak of?eightbore wrote:Stan, use one of your London Guns pads or a No Shoc with the logo sanded off. Both have small holes.

Marketed and marked with London Guns logo by a California gun store. Beautiful solid red pads with sculpted faces. Word has it that they are "back on the market" after being gone a while.

Re: 2016 Dove season
My early BE Fox arrived a week too late for dove season, but I took a Parker hammer gun and my Model 21. Got a double with the 21. Dove population was down, but we still had a good hunt. I think Hermine messed our population up.
