I recently came into possession of a 12ga Sterlingworth, (standard with extractors) manufactured in 1913. For the most part it is in pretty good shape, however it does need some work.
At some point the original 30 in. barrels were cut to 24 in., the stock has been replaced and the forend refinished in a somewhat unprofessional manner.
I have located new barrels and obtained most of the required hardware and wood I require but I need some recommendations for a really good gunsmith to put this beauty back together.
I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and would prefer someone on this side of the country. However, what I really want is a craftsman I can trust.
I would really appreciate your thoughts and recommendations!!

Re: Restoration Help
Is this a family piece?
Sounds like you are just saving the action, unless there is an emotional attachment. It might be less expensive to buy one configured like you want

Yes, this is all based on an emotional attachment.
I agree with your financial assessment and yet it is something I want to finish.
Thanks for your interest.
