Spacing out triggers

Post by MilRob »

How tough of a job is it to widen the distance between triggers? Recently picked up a shooter 16 ga 30" sterlingworth and the triggers are really close together. More than any other Fox I have handled I think.

Thanks

I know what you are talking about. I have found some fox triggers to be a little close together.

A matter of tweeking the bend of one or both of the triggers should be the ticket to get a little more room. However, the way they are filed off the blades may limit what you can do in this regard on a case by case basis. Swapping in a trigger from another gun that is of a more favorable shape is an option too.

You could weld the pin hole up in the trigger and relocate hole to move trigger or install a new old stock one. Bobby

The first HE I bought had this problem - I have small hands & thin fingers, but I could just get my index finger between the front and rear triggers comfortably. With gloves on, no way! I thought at first that the gun had been dropped and the trigger guard mashed and bent the trigger(s), but the guard was not damaged and showed no signs of having been repaired or straightened. While the gun was in for disassembly and cleaning and stock bedding, etc., I had the trigger problem fixed. I don't know whether the gunsmith straightened the trigger by heating and bending or what, but he restored the correct shape and spacing per original geometry and I've never had a problem with it since.
