two piece pin gun ejector mechanism forearm
Visited Dan Rossiter and we went over the Pin Gun ejector I bought a few weeks ago. Had an issue with doubling which Dan fixed in a few minutes. Checked Min barrel wall thickness and they were .036 and .040 so it was fine. Somewhere in its life the forcing cones were lengthened but other then that it appears to have original barrel blueing in the 95% range. Stock was hopelessly trashed so a restock is in Dan's que now. One thing we encountered that Dan hadn't seen before was a two piece forearm metal that was clearly factory made. Wish I had taken a picture but I did not as the camera ran out of juice just when I got to Dan's. Looked like a hybrid of the ejector mechanism for graded gun. Anyway, did a google search and found the following with no doubt Researcher posted a few years ago. It appears mine is identical to the second from the left ejector mechanism with the second part of the metal work being silverwelded (I think) right in front of the roller. Curious if anyone can provide a date when this was phased out? FWIW, this must have taken a lot of time to pull off. I can imagine quite a bit of effort to make this mechanism work consistently.

Tom what Fox did was make up the extension pieces and use graded latch plate forend irons and the extension to fit to sterlingworths.I have one of these pieces. You also can cut a sterlinworth one piece ejector forend off and use iron for a graded latch plate gun. Bobby

The Sterlingworth Ejector Pin Gun #61039 I had also has a two-piece forend mechanism. It left the factory on April 16, 1913.
