Looks like a wonderful time with one happy hunter and an even happier pup.

So, Craig, did these birds require the use of a Super Fox? I remember when a friend had a Super Fox with cut barrels for sale for a Sterlingworth price. That gun still had plenty of choke for normal waterfowling and I was too crazy to write the check. I wonder who has that gun now? I have the serial number.

Nice going Craig (and Lucy). Now I see why you left S. Dakota early.

Craig, as a duck hunter, you are the standard that all others are compared to. I just spent the day on the marsh and got skunked. Someday I want to be "half" the duck hunter that you are. And as always, beautiful pictures and that's a great gun.

There is nothing like another happy end to a opening day.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I love to duck hunt but I am also blessed with a great place to hunt. We had our best opening day in years, I think our efforts to annually draw down our water is paying off in much better food production. We shot eight different species of ducks on our marsh yesterday.
My little Lucy is a duck vacuum cleaner, she made me very proud. As my good friend Daryl says hunting without a dog is just taking an armed walk in the woods. Dogs make the hunt in my opinion.
Bill a Super Fox is certainly not necessary but I bought it to shoot so it's my go to gun. It's has a 13 1/2" LOP which is perfect when dressed for duck hunting and I do not consider x-full chokes a handicap.

Craig, what do you plant for food? Shells used?

We do plant any food, we draw the level down each spring after the birds have migrated north. The draw down stabilizes the bottom and stimulates the grow of annual grasses.
I have been using Rio bismuth 3" #4's in my super since they were on sale at Academy Sports for $16.00 a box-----a real bargain. They work great.
