I'll get some better pics as those definitely don't do it any justice, but not bad overall.

Very nice! Can you tell us what you had done? Looks ready for another 100 years!

Sadly it's a 12ga, oh what I would give if it was a 16...But anyway, nice piece regardless. As for what was done, everything. Blue, case color, wood refinished and recheckered, new pad, engraving redone, new trigger plate screw to replace the damaged one, top lever timing fixed and the fore end latch tightened up, it liked to fall off under recoil. It functioned fine mechanically except the ejector hammers didn't stay locked, I didn't want to spend a ton of money chasing ejector timing, I know that can get out of hand in a hurry. So the hammers stay locked now but the ejectors kick every time you open it regardless if it's been fired or not. Not correct and I know that, but to me, not a big deal. I'm pretty good with the mechanics of things as well as fixing them, so maybe one day I'll give it a shot, but for now I'm ok with everything. There are a few things I would've liked to see come out different, but overall I'm pleased with the outcome for the money spent. The hard part now is putting a value on it, I don't buy the book prices and those are for original anyway. I guess it would come down to what someone would pay for it, not that it's for sale at this time anyway. Now just need to get to the range and do some shooting...

Nice colors and restoration, I have never seen "B" grade A.H. Fox gun up close. Must not be too many of them.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the good words. The guy that did the restoration says they are very rare, and I've only seen a few on the auction and for sale sites, but mine and only one other I've seen were ejector guns. I shot a Vintagers event a few weeks ago and a member here came out and he was shooting a 26" B grade, super nice piece. Maybe the Researcher has a better idea on how many they are, it even says in the blue book this grade is rarely seen. Either way I'm pleased with the end result overall.

I owned a 12 gauge BE that was restored (poorly) years ago and sold it rather quickly. Bad restoration. Don't recall the serial number. I was at an auction the Eastern Shore of Va last June and saw a mint original condition early BE sell that had 32" barrels. That gun was brought up to the NE SXS where Tony from CSMC tried to purchase it for resale the owner decided to hang onto it. It was the highest original condition graded gun I'd ever seen and came from a collector in Virginia.

I have a very nice, original condition BE with 30" barrels that I purchased from a fellow AHFCA member. You don't see them very often but I'd sure like to find a 20ga. to keep it company.

I've never seen a B grade with the late style engraving, I thought they were dropped when the style changed. Superb piece though and 30" too, what a great find!!
