Custom CE Fox Stocked in English Walnut
This is a Custom CE grade AH Fox.
The case hardening and bluing was restored by Brad Bachelder of Grand Rapids Michigan.
The gun was restocked in English Walnut by Slim’s Stock Works.

Sorry if my reply seems negative, but I can't see redoing the case color and blueing without picking up the engraving first.

Mark, thanks for taking and posting the pics in your (four) threads not only here but also on the Parker site. Some nice workmanship in all three guns and of course some spectacular wood in them. As you know I saw and handled the Bachelder restored HE last year at the Northeast Side by Side at Hausmanns and am looking forward to seeing the other two guns at some point.
EDITED Jan 29, 2015: I commented on some organizational development aspects when I wrote a reply here in March 2014. I've seen some progress since then, in forum users "valuing" custom guns here on the site. I don't want my earlier comments to be read out of context in the future. Therefore I edited my reply accordingly.

I could'nt agree more Frank. Thank you for your comments and thanks to Mark for his ability to redo these great guns and for taking the time to post them for our viewing pleasure.

Thanks guys!
The engraving on this CE is really fairly crisp, not perfect but pretty crisp. Case colors do of course filter or defuse the light reflected off the gun toward one's eyes. This set of photos focused on the case colors rather than on the engraving. I am but an amateur photographer...
I have had engraving re-chased on other guns before re-case hardening but this ol' gal looks pretty good as she is.
Thanks to all!

Nothing wrong with a gun that has been corrected, made shootable, or modified to fit the owners needs.
Nice looking wood.

Hey Big Friend Ten! That's a gorgeous gun. I'd love to see it sometime. Do you ever shoot in the Grand Rapids area?

The more I look at that wood the more I am impressed. "Slim" did a very good job of shaping the subtle features. This is not always the case with a restock, sadly. Just look at how the cheek panels flow into and out of the contours on the sides of the receiver. The lines continue perfectly.

Re: Custom CE Fox Stocked in English Walnut
Thanks for the invite and I would love to drive over to Attica, but unfortunately your meet is the same day as the Grand Rapids "5/3" River Bank 25K run. I'll have to catch up with you another time.
