I'm am new to FCF and am looking for some information regarding a Fox my dad gave me a while ago.
I finally had a chance to pull this out of moth balls and cleaned it up over Christmas.
It is a really nice gun but I haven't had an opportunity to shoot it yet.
I am looking to know approx. worth of the gun and any history on it. Also where I can find or source a replica Recoil Pad.
The recoil pad is red/orange and all sticky. I believe it is a Jostam Anti-Flinch Recoil Pad - 4 5/8" X 1 1/2" (small)
At this time, I have replaced it with a slip on limbsaver pad but would like something looking more true to original. I have kept the original recoil pad.
Here is what I know about the gun (from the great information on this website):
20 GA. Side by side Double Barrel - Rolled Stamped Chromox Fluid Compressed Steel Philadelphia
S/N 202821 - A Grade(Late Style) - 28" Barrel - Straight Grip - Double Trigger - Savage Era Safety Slide - Metal Bead
Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds nice. Pictures would help to be able expand on your description.
20 Gauge A's are not easy to find in any condition.

This probably isn't information but your Dad has really good taste in guns.
Recoil is most noticed when I miss

Thanks for posting. Nice looking gun. Interesting, your gun has a way atypical trigger guard setup for a factory straight-grip - 4th pic shows a screw at the back end of a pistol grip style guard and how it overlays what looks like the back part of a straight-grip guard tang. I suggest that you send for a Callahan letter, or join the AHFCA and get a free lookup, to see what the record card shows for your serial number. Also, that's a Phila era safety slide, not Savage. Is there any difference in the record card information from a Callahan letter vs the one free lookup you get when joining AHFCA?
