Hunting with my grandson and CE Fox
Sorry, I first put this in the wrong place. Hunting with my grandson, Ben, and Chester. Ben's first hunt and a wonderful memory for us.

Looks like a great day! I can't wait for the day I can take my son (also Ben) out for his first hunt. Nice looking CE too!

I'm glad to see the young being introduced to guns and hunting. They are the future of our passion. Good job and hopefully a good memory for both of you!

Re: Hunting with my grandson and CE Fox
This is a 1911 CE purchased last June that needed the auto-safety and ejectors repaired. The right ejector worked fine; but the left did not. The pad was original but was brittle and in sad shape as was the stock. It did not have any cracks ; just not very pleasing to the eye. Someone on this site said Turnbull was very good; so off it went for repair and cosmetics. Turnbull estimated cost at 1950.00. I received it back the 2nd week of December. Cost was 2000.00 even. It looks great and functions great; less than 4100.00 total investment.I have no problem with a restored gun that I will use and can pass it down for another 100 years of use. I am sure Ben will be proud to have it someday.
I have 5 grandsons; Ben at 9 is the oldest. At 6 I Started Ben on the bb gun; at seven ; the single shot 22 and a 410. This is the plan for all. On Ben"s first quail hunt he used the Mossberg 410 youth pump. The first few birds we flushed; his gun was not loaded and he practiced shouldering and aiming at the bird. Next we loaded one shell and he shot at four or five birds on the rise without success. The last bird he flushed he powdered much to my surprise; Whether beginners luck or not ,we were both all smiles and that was a good one to quit on. Looking forward to the next hunt!
