I honestly do not care for reblued etc . However I do own some . Given a choice I'd go for original every time . But one needs to take the bottom line into consideration !
They are not making them anymore , so what ya find is what ya gets !
IF you want one that looks fairly new or fit to your person that's your option and certainly it should be if you're the one writing the check to pay the bill .

I would beg to differ.
CSMC makes some very nice Fox's.
I don't know if the 'stuffy' atitude has changed because I have not been on this forum for a few years after my initial experience.-Dick

I would like for you to elaborate on that initial experience, Dick. I read back over your first thread, your "initial experience", I assume, where you showed the pictures of your beautiful CSMC Fox. You received nothing but compliments, that I can find, and I read it over twice to be sure. You were even asked to elaborate on the selection and ordering process. Am I misinterpreting your above post in thinking that you perceived that you were snubbed or mistreated in some way?budrichard wrote: I don't know if the 'stuffy' atitude has changed because I have not been on this forum for a few years after my initial experience.-Dick

'Stuffy' was not my term but in the title of the original Post.
I agree that the comments were fine.
But after reading Posts on the Fox forum for a few months it became evident as I recently Posted that this was not a CSMC Fox forum but a forum for Fox Collectors. So I stopped accessing the forum until recently when I was trying to gain information about a 16 gauge Sterlingworth my Brother-in-law had just purchased.
Sorry if I wasn't explicit.
If you want to attract CSMC Fox owners, I would suggest a seperate area even though there is not a lot of interest or sales of CSMC Fox's.
I shut down my own Forum for Model 21 owners because there was just not that much interest in either Winchester or CSMC Model 21's.

Re: It sure seems a little less stuffy around here . . .
Thank you for the explanation, Dick. There are posts from time to time concerning CSMC Foxes, and they are most welcome here, but I guess it is just a numbers thing. There just aren't as many buyers for $25,000 Foxes as there are $2500 Foxes. Tony's Foxes are beautiful guns, indeed, and fortunate are they who own them. Please post updates and comments on them as often as you like. I admire them very much.

Re: It sure seems a little less stuffy around here . . .
I tried my best to keep Dick's site active by participation, but, as he implies, he and I got little help. I also posted some unique paper items to the "original" Model 21 site, which didn't help much to prolong its existence. Some collector guns are of more interest to shooters than they are to collectors or internet geeks. I would put the Model 21 and the CSMC Fox in that category. Dick dropped our site for lack of interest, the same thing that doomed his site and the Bluepike site. I love all three and I'm sorry to see two of them go. Bill Murphy

It makes sense that participation has a direct relationship with production and cost. The fewer the production, the fewer the number of people that can own a certain brand. The higher the cost, the fewer the number of people that can own that certain brand. The fewer the people that own a certain gun, the less the participation on that particular forum.budrichard wrote: there is not a lot of interest or sales of CSMC Fox's.

Personally, I like to see and hear about any high grade, custom or high condition gun. The next best thing to owning is seeing and hearing about them!
