Hi Mike,

I see that your posts about your Model B have been out here for a few days with plenty of views, but no response on your safety issue. I've had the same issue, but with an early A Grade Fox. In the case of my A Grade, the pin holding the safety button in place was the issue and my Gunsmith was able to fix it fairly easily and kept the slide from re-setting between barrels. The Fox Model B you have doesn't get discussed much on this forum, as it was a Savage Arms creation that came about a little later than the A.H. Fox guns that this site is dedicated to. There is amazing technical knowledge on this board about the A.H. Fox guns, but possibly not as much on the Model B. If you don't get any responses, it could be due to a lack of familiarity with this model gun. You may want to post something on the standard Double Gun Forum and see if anyone can assist you. It's likely something simple that a quick trip to the gunsmith could fix.

New guy here, just reading through some threads and saw the post (albeit a somewhat old one) about Fox Model B. I own two of the Savage-built Model B's, and I knew this forum was dedicated to the A.H. Fox guns; I wanted to see, though, if there was any sub-forum here for the later (post 1947) guns made by Savage.

At any rate, if 1mikeyd1[/I] isn't aware, the internals on his Fox are similar to, or identical (depending on the age) to the Stevens 311, also made by Savage. If you have any problems finding parts or schematics for your Fox, refer to the Stevens 311 and you'll find what you need.

I love my Fox B's but talking about them on this forum seems akin to talking about Volkswagens on a Porsche forum  I went to one of the picture galleries and immediately started crying. And drooling.
