New image to an old girl

Post by fnj682 »

I became the new caretaker of an old girl. I'm sure she has been out many times before, but she went out yesterday for the first time with a new stock that was tailored for her new caretaker (me). I think she liked it cause she performed wonderfully.
I hope you enjoy her photo as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you.

I always like to see old Sterlingworths in the field. Nice rooster, great gun. What year was the gun manufactured?

WPGRIFFON,
My Sterlingworth is a 16ga built in 1928. Its a simple extractor gun that was much too low for me. Restocking to my dimensions has made for a world of difference. It might quickly become one of my favorite field guns!

No one famous...just me. I attached a photo of the build up before I duplicated it. The stock was raised over an inch at the heel and cut accordingly from the toe after duplication. This way the original stock was kept intact.

Nothing like a sweet little Fox and a rooster! Nice job on that stock. May your game pouch stay filled.

Very nice work. Classy piece of wood for a sterly. Fits the gun perfect IMO. Well done!! If only I had the time and more importantly the skill.
