2014 hunting season begins
Let's see your pics. Grouse and small game opened today here in MN. I had a wonderful morning hunting and was lucky enough to see a couple of birds.

Re: 2014 hunting photos. Let's see them.
Way to go Milrob! I wish I was there. Jim
Goodbye Mandy, once in a life time hunting dog. I miss you every day.

Nice!
Unfortunately I won't make the New Hampshire opener like usual this year but I'll be up the last week of October. Luckily for me that means we can chase turkey's and deer too!
Enjoy your seasons

Ther is nothing better to bring back childhood memories of time with your Dad than a picture of a sxs and the bounty of your hunt!
Re: 2014 hunting season begins
Great photo. I saw it over on your post on the UJ forum. What's not to love......a couple of grouse, a fine little Fox and a well worn Mother vest!
Re: 2014 hunting season begins
Good eye on that Mothers vest. Ended up cutting the thicker shoulder straps off and added thin shoulder straps. Still really like the old thing.
Re: 2014 hunting season begins
Prairie Chickens out here, Milrob, got this one with the first shot at game for my new CSMC XE. First 100 were at clays to get familiar with the gun, and this was in the second week of the season. I'm not a Fox collector, just a shooter, and have been opening and closing hunting seasons with Browning designs (A5 and M97), so it had to wait until the second trip. Well worth the wait, just should have brought a better camera. Hunting pal shot his chicken on that day with a Ruger Red Label 12ga, he opened the season with a Citori 20ga. Can't understand those fellows who gun with the barrels 90deg out of alignment.
I hope to hit the U.P. in October, more for woodcock than ruffs although I will not turn down shots at them either.

That XE looks wonderful. Most of my pictures are just with my cellphone. Nothing special. Someday I will try and hunt some prairie chickens. So many birds so little time.

Minnesota Sharptails? And double-Foxed!
Looks like you borrowed my dog. There were only two reds in his litter, yours looks like a 3rd that got out unnoticed.

Montana sharptails. You have one of Tony's pups?
Here is another pic of him

Nope, my red Gordon just looks a lot like your pup in that profile shot due to the color and amount of white on the chest. I don't know Tony, but he might have been at a field trial I attended several years ago east of Bismark, ND. I'm not very familar with the Cocker and Springer breeders.
