found fox
found fox
While exploring a gun case in my departed fathers closet I came upon a very pretty A.H. Fox shotgun, Ser#30160A. A friend says it may be valuable. I probably would keep it to shoot pheasants if it is the proper gun for this. As I am a new hunter, Im not even sure what gauge this beauty is. If anyone can help me on this one I would appreciate it. The gun has 28in barrels, and is in excellent condition.(I think) I will post pictures when become adept at this.
Re: found fox
According to the serial number it appears to be 12 gauge A grade made in about 1926. With all older guns condition and originality will dictate value. Some photos would be valuable in estimating condition. A 12 gauge with 28 inch barrels makes an excellent upland pheasant gun and with the proper ammunition is good for waterfowl as well.

Re: found fox
Great find! I think I'll start snooping around in my dad's closet! My grandfather had a graded Fox and nobody knows what happened to it. We think he traded it for a Gibson banjo.
Re: found fox
I finally figured out how to post a picture of my Found Fox. Tell me what you think of my Dad's gun?
Thanks,
Ron

Looks like your Father left a very nice 12-gauge A-Grade bird gun behind. Pheasants beware!!!
