Marbles Bi-Color Press in Bead

Post by vaturkey »

Located one of these NOS and was trying to figure out if they were an option for Fox. Neat bead in that the bottom is ivory and the top is brass. Size is 5/32 and its a press in. Was concerned it might not be real ivory but it is indeed. Contemplating putting this on the 32" Sterlingworth I just picked up because I think that size will look right.

It was the bead Nash Buckingham often specified on guns he ordered --

It was the bead that was on my Father's 16-gauge Remington AE-Grade that was stolen from his house in Seattle back in the 1970s, serial number P136036.

This is a great sight, hard to find, and looks great on any gun. I even used them on my Beretta competition gun, because I came upon a bit of a stash of them years ago. I hadn't thought about it until now, but I will use one on my Becker pigeon gun project.

Glad I came across it. I think it is indeed headed for the 32" Sterlingworth now. Call it Bo Whoop lite.

I really like these Marbles Bi-Colors especially on hunting Foxes because they are sturdier than the common Lyman ivory front beads. Readers should know that neither the Lyman nor the Marbles front sights match the diameter/taper of the Fox factory silverish sight. Hole must be opened up and taper-reamed with the special reamer supplied in at least some of the packaging. A job best done by a capable gunsmith.

B grade 12 gauge 19xxx. The sight looks as old as the gun.
