Fit a repro Noshoc pad to my 16 ga. What is the easiest way to match the contour of the plugs to the rest of the recoil pad while keeping the same look? Fine sandpaper?
I would leave the outside end of the plug with its "factory finish" and cut the inside end to length to make it flush or very slightly below the surface of the pad.
I install the plugs backwards. use a single edge razor blade to make a slight cut at the top and bottom. Remove plug and finish cutting...usually at an angle form top to bottom. Install with factory edge revealed and rotate the plug to get a good match with the angle/contour. I prefer ever so slightly below flush to any amount proud.
Beware the man with one gun...he likely will bore you to death in others ways, too.
