How do I tell when a gun was manufactured by the card? Or can you?

Sometimes there are dates written or stamped on the face of a card and sometimes not. The A.H. Fox Collectors Association, Inc. has photocopies of the surviving graded gun cards. The guys that talked their way into the archives at Savage back in, I believe about 1991, and made the photocopies only did the backs of somewhat less than 10% of the cards. There may be some more information such as a date on the back of the card for your gun. The only way to get that information would be to get a letter on your gun from the Savage historian --

In the case of your gun, being a gun made for STOCK and shipped to a major distributor, their will very likely not be anything more than a date on the back of the card.
