Stan,

Your most recent post and Silver's initial response to this thread pretty well sum up the state of affairs today. Self-reliance, respectfulness, selflessness and common courtesy are seldom taught anymore. There's a great line in the book/movie " No Country for Old Men"- "Once you quit hearing 'sir' and 'ma'am', the rest is soon to follow." I'm optimistic that things will turn around in my lifetime (I'm 40, so hopefully I'll be around for a while), but we as a country are going to have to go through some very difficult times first.

All the best,
Marcus

Plenty of firewood for our primary heat source, 2 generators, 1 for each building equipped with disconnect/isolation switches, 2 natural springs for fresh water, plenty of critters vacuum packed in the outside freezers. 220 gallon tanks filled with diesel, gasoline and heating oil. Coleman lamps ready with extra fuel just in case. Much more all ready to make life easier. Heck, we even have an old fashioned phone for those situations!! :D Neighbors are welcome, as that's what neighbors do.
