Releasing top lever

Post by Ithaca33 »

Is there a way when a fox is disassembled to release the top lever back to center? I don't like leaving it locked open in its case for fear it'll get dropped, banged into, or something else will happen that could damage it.

So what's the trick?

Thanks,
Pat

There is a top lever release at the bottom of the barrel estension slot.

It's the post coming up through the floor in the slot? Is it depressed or turned? One side looks flat while the other rounded.

Just press it down while holding the top lever over all the way to the right, then ease the lever back left while holding release down, Pat.

I store my Fox broken down between sessions and release the lever in that fassion, too. I also relieve the hammer springs by placing a 1" thick nylon block up against the breech face and pull the triggers.
