Re: HE receiver size
Thanks for being a member of the AHFCA. Most HE Grade Super-Fox guns were made up using an oversize 12 gauge frame that's been called the Magnum or 0-Frame, and with heavy 0-weight barrels. And a small number of lighter weight Super-Foxes were built on 12 gauge regular size frames and with 1-weight barrels. The latter supplied when a lighter weight HE was ordered. I had one that was ordered and finished at 8-1/4 pounds with 32-inch barrels, and I've seen/inspected several others over the years. Silvers

Thanks for quick reply. Too cold to do much except Foxify. The gun is about 8.5# and has 0 weight barrels! DEN

Re: HE receiver size
You may want to get a copy of DGJ Winter 2011, I wrote an article about the 12ga Super Fox with lots of facts and specs. A Super Fox built with 0 barrels should measure about 2.420 across the breech. Craig Larter

Re: HE receiver size
Mr. Tom Kidd wrote another DGJ article for the summer 1996 edition. It featured a couple of HE guns built for Henry Bartholomew. Bartholomew was a good friend of Nash Buckingham. They were built on the standard no 1 frame and not the normal 0 Super Fox frame. I have seen other heavy standard frame guns that were not marked as HE. Bartholomew was evidently a good enough customer to have a gun called what ever he wanted. Nothing wrong with taking care of the customer.
