Sterlingworth 16 ga. Extractor Removal Procedure

Post by SAS »

I have a Utica 16 ga. that does not open smoothly. The extractor is dragging, it does not move smoothly. I suspect there may be a burr in the extractor housing. Can anyone provide instructions for removal of the extractor rod? It appears that removal of the cocking lever is required. I don't want to create a bigger problem. I searched the forum for this information, but could no locate it. Thank you. - Scott

Take the screw out that holds the cocking slide.Be careful and do not lose slide spring. It is not under much tension. Take a small screwdriver and loosen the extractor retaining screw that is under cocking slide.Pull out extractor. Bobby

Before I went to all the trouble of removing the ejecters I would douse them good with a good CLP product like Breakfree and see if that doesen't solve your problems.
