First dove with my first Fox

Post by spc7669 »

Got my first Fox, a Sterlingworth 20 gauge, from bbman a couple of weeks ago. I took it out today on a just picked corn field. I absolutely love this gun! It handles like a dream. I thought this would be my only Fox, but now I'm not so sure.

Sorry about the first picture, it took me a minute to figure out the Photobucket thing.

Would love to see some more pictures of that straight grip. I have thought about putting a st. grip on one of my 20 SW's (keeping the original of course)

Since I'm brand new to classic doubles, I'd like to throw some things out for any other new guys thinking about getting one.

This gun swings better than any pump or auto I have. A lot of my hunting buddies tried to get me to go with an over and under. I've shot a lot of them, and none is even close to a Fox. The recoil is very mild. The thing that shocked me most is how much I love having two triggers. I killed several doves yesterday because I could select the correct barrel/choke combination for each shot. I was also surprised at how much I like the extractors versus ejectors. I never felt slow on reloads and didn't have to pick up empties because I just dropped them in my pocket.

I want to thank bbman especially for spending several hours answering my dumb questions and putting me in the perfect gun for what I like to hunt.
