Researcher: can you confirm the exact length of the forend you're showing? I know the info is in the book, but what do you see.

Also, can you confirm the first year the beaver tail was offered on XEs.? Of course, if you have good photos of a correct beaver tail for the mid/late 1910s, we might as well work you to death while we can. :lol:

The wood on my XE forearm is 9 7/16 inches long.

The first mention of a beavertail for Fox doubles is in the 1931 catalogues and pricelists put out by Savage. I won't say they don't exist, but I have yet to see a beavertail on a Philadelphia era Fox double that letters.
