I ran across a neat little brochure from the Jostam Recoil Pad Company that I think will be of interest all you Fox guys!
It seems that Jostam was the pad of choice for Fox guns made by Savage. I am sure you could specify any pad you wanted but if you did not or your gun was a stock order gun it most likely came with a Jostam.
I also think some A.H. Fox guns came from Philadelphia with Jostams also.
I have posted some pages from the brochure with their description of the pads they offered. Note that the sizes are listed with measurements
Also look at the pricing, it looks like the ANTI-FLINCH was the top of the line at $3.25 Followed by the HY-GUN at $3.00. By the way I will take a dozen of each at those prices!
The NO KICK COMING was a new offering at $1.60 and the SPONGE RUBBER ONE PLY was also $1.60 for .65 more you could get the 2 PLY, add another .50 for the 3 PLY.
The next to last page has some ordering information that states "Special size pads 50c extra".
If anyone knows what happened to the Jostam company please chime in I would like to know.
The back cover states that they were "Largest Manufacturers of Recoil Pads in the World"
Enjoy the post and feel free to comment!
Thanks, Scott
