I purchased a Fox Sterlingworth from a co-worker the other day serial # 70xxx. It is in good condition and shoots well. I was wondering if someone could tell me when it was made. thanks S

Looks to be about 1914.

You can look up Fox as well as other high grade double dates of production here:

I have 2 sterlingworths 729XX made the same year as yours and 1437XX.......when side by side [no pun intended] its hard to beleive they are the same model....the early one is a fine fitted and finished gun, while the later, while still being a fine shooter, is fit and finished more like a 311 than a Fox....
