Original Stock?

Post by J. A. Early »

I need the expert opinions of you Fox lovers. I know it is difficult from a photo, but does this appear to be an original Sterlingworth stock? Are they numbered to the gun somewhere under the buttplate or trigger guard (like Parkers)?

Thanks for your advice.

Your gun appears to be a early A grade, what is the serial number?? It is not a Sterlingworth stock.

Sorry I misidentified it as a Sterlingworth. The gun belongs to someone else. Any info you could provide as to date of manufacture would be appreciated. It is a 12 gauge. I did not know if the rounded pistol grip/Prince of Wales style was correct for the gun and wanted to determine if it was original.

Thanks in advance for your help,

On "Graded" Ansley H. Fox doubles the half-pistol grip was always standard with the option of a capped full pistol grip or a straight grip.

Thanks for the response. I am guessing then that it is an original stock.
