Philly era - Grade A extractors
Philly era - Grade A extractors
Do all the Philly era (1920) Garde A guns come "standard" with extractors?..I'm pretty sure ejectors were special ordered , but extractors on all Grade A guns were standard...Am I correct on this?
Thanks

tjw , thanks for the info...I also just found out that "graded gun" after 1913 , ejectors are also "standard"...according to the serial##..the gun I am looking at was built 1920...mid production.I have only seen pics of the gun and haven't had the opprotunity to physically inspect it yet.MARSHFELLOW wrote:Yes, Sam, you are correct.

I have a couple of Sterlingworths , but this is my first graded gun to consider and am trying to educate myself.I was fortunate enough to win one of Micheal McIntosh's books from AuctionArms , but it will be a couple more weeks before I recieve it...Then I can really start to educate myself...I have also just sent in my application for membership to the Fox Collectors Association and am sure it will take a few days to get processed.
Thanks Again....

Re: Philly era - Grade A extractors
Beginning with the 1914 "Fox Gets the Game" catalogue, ejectors were "standard" on CE-Grade and higher Ansley H. Fox doubles. The A-Grade and the B-grade with extractors were still regular catalogue offerings. The B- and the BE-Grades were dropped from the price lists and catalogues between November 30 and December 1, 1919. Both the A-grade with extractors and the AE-Grade with ejectors remained regular catalogue offerings to the very end in 1945 or 46.

Will M McIntosh's book give me info like what you just quoted....I have been curious about Fox guns since my college days...But have just recently "really" started studying the history and wanting to get "real" facts
