2011 Ansley H. Fox Championship Shoot Guidelines

Post by fox-admin »

Attention: Fox shooters who would like to compete in our Fourth Annual “Ansley H. Fox Championship” while at the Vintage Cup this year.

The 2011 Vintage Cup will be held at Pintail Point, Queenstown, MD from September 22-25. The Vintagers will be running their American Classic Shoot on Friday and Saturday, and the A.H. Fox Collectors Association Inc. will offer the Ansley H. Fox Championship as a “Concurrent” to this event. Please check the Vintager’s website at http://www.vintagers.org/ for full details.

This competition is open to anyone who plans to shoot a Fox-designed shotgun** (see below for definition). You don't have to be a member of the A H Fox Collectors Association. AHFCA annual and life members will pay a $15.00 entry fee. Entry fee for non-members is $20.00. "Registered users” on the AHFCA Forum are considered non-members if they are not annual or life members.

2011 PRIZES.
FIVE (5) AVAILABLE.

1) The ANSLEY H FOX CHAMPIONSHIP Trophy will be awarded to the first place score shot with an AH Fox shotgun.
2) Second place score (“Runner Up”) will also receive a trophy.
3) Third place score will receive our new “Fox gets the Game” gunroom banner.
4) Fourth place score will receive one (1) year FREE membership to The AHFCA
5) Fifth place score will receive four (4) boxes of RST shells

An article on both Trophy winners will be featured in the Fox Collectors Association Newsletter “The Finest Gun in the World”.

TO ENTER:

STEP 1: Fox gun shooters should register for the American Classic event with the Vintagers organization. Shooting for the Ansley H. Fox Championship may be done on Friday or Saturday, your choice. You may register down at the Vintage Cup, but please note that pre-registrants get free admission to the Vintage Cup. This can save you $20.00 per day!

STEP 2: Participants must bring their blank shooting score card by the Fox table, before doing any shooting on the American Classic course. Each participant will pay their entry fee and agree to shoot with a Fox-designed gun on the American Classic course. The blank scorecard will be stamped with our official Fox Collectors stamp to verify the entry. Anyone shooting the course before paying the entry fee is ineligible to compete in the AHF Championship.

STEP 3: After the contestant shoots the American Classic venue, they must bring their score card back to the Fox Collectors table in order for us to record their results. Winning scores - as confirmed by the Vintagers - will be awarded the aforementioned trophies and prizes.

In the event of a tie or ties, the official places, as determined by Pintail Point’s competition scoring software, will be used to determine our winners.

Since scores will be recorded by Pintail Point station referees, all shooters, including Fox officers are eligible to enter the Ansley H. Fox Championship event. Multiple entries in the A H Fox Championship are permitted, since the Vintagers allow multiple entries in the American Classic. If a shooter enters the A H Fox Championship more than once, his/her, highest score will be used for the prize selection.

The Fox Directors in attendance at the Vintage Cup reserve the right to make field decisions on anything not specifically noted herein. Vintager’s rules will be used insofar as possible.

**Acceptable genuine Fox guns are 12-16-20 gauge, of Philadelphia or Savage-Utica era manufacture, or 16-20-28-410 CSMC Foxes. Philadelphia Arms Company guns are also acceptable. No Fox Model B’s or Model B clones.
