trigger pull
trigger pull
My A grade Fox has creep in the second trigger. Can this be fixed and who can do the work ??
Re: trigger pull
Anything mechanical can be fixed if you have enough time and money.
I have Mike Alee in Kansas City working on a set of triggers for me right now. I'll let you know how they come out.

Re: trigger pull
I contacted Midwest Gun Works in Pevely, Missouri and they can rework the triggers for pounds of pull and remove the creep.
They did said it was time consuming because they had to make the adjustment and assembly the action to see check it.
This had to be done several times to get it right !!!!!
So Twice Barrel, let me know how you like Mike Alee's trigger job work and the cost.

Re: trigger pull
Like I said earlier all it takes is time and money, unforturnately I have much more of the former than the latter. I'll drop you a PM when I get it back.
Re: trigger pull
Twice Barrel,
I looked in a British gun fitting book I have and it said the trigger pull should be 3# on the front trigger and 3-1/2# on the back one for a target gun.
It suggested a little heavier for a hunting gun.

Re: trigger pull
I asked Mike to set my trigger pulls at 4lbs for the front and 5lbs for the rear. I don't think I could distinguish the difference between 3 1/2 lbs and 4 lbls.
Re: trigger pull
Dewey Vicknair of Vichnair Restoration, who did the original restoration work of my Fox, saw this forum post and called me. Dewey recommended sending the Fox back to him and he would adjust the triggers a no charge. Dewey's restoration work is superior to anyones I've ever seen and, as per the phone call, he is standing behind his work.

Re: trigger pull
Dewey is a good man who does excellent work and obviously stands behind his work. Too bad Savage still doesn't provide support for their Fox guns anymore or I would have sent my gun to them to have it fixed.
