Heh guys! Here is my new "Pin gun"
Thought you all would like to look at a couple pics of my new A.H. Fox Sterlingworth "Pin Gun" I really like it. Just had a couple dent taken out of the barrels. Locks up so tight. Compared to the new guns on the shelves, can't believe the workmanship. The stock is weak on one side. I suppose I will have to take the stock off and check it out. Sounds like taking the butt stock off is a big deal, so don't really want to, but will if I have to I guess.

Re: Heh guys! Here is my new "Pin gun"
Clayborn your Sterlingworth was made at the height of American gun making when quality workmanship was the norm not the exception. As far as removing the buttstock follow the instructions on the home page but before you start make sure you have the right screwdrivers. A set of Brownell's thin blade screw drivers plus the regular set are a must for protecting your fox's screw heads.

Had four dents taken out of the barrels and the Smith did a good job at least to my unprofessional eye. Now need to get that stock off and see what is going on and then a recoil pad. Load up some shells with Frank Silver pressure advice and I'll be breaking clays and then pheasants in the fall, for Sunday dinner. I really have a plan don't you think.

Follow Mike Campbell's excellent instructions, take your time, use the right bits. The brass drift punch & magnetic tray are handy also. Seems harder than it really is.
Below is a link to a vise I use. Does a good job for me.
