custom fox 16ga in progress
I'm sure some of you may have seen this post on the doublegun forum but since it is a Fox I thought I would post it here as well.
This gun started its life as a 16ga sterlingworth ejector. We have been commissioned to reshape the action, top lever, safety button, and forend iron. The action is currently with the engraver and should be completed in a few months. I will post pics of the engraving when completed. Hope you all enjoy the photos.
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays.

Re: custom fox 16ga in progress
Very nice work Dan and Anthony! I look forward to seeing more of this project as it unfolds. This is going to make one cool Fox!
I happened to be at PGS when this SW Ejector arrived. All these Foxes are running together but as I recall this is the one that has 30" heavy weight tubes, heaviest I've personally seen on a 16/30 incher. Silvers

Re: custom fox 16ga in progress
Small world... I had a fair bit of contact with the owner of this gun...just two fox gunnuts chatting.. he forwarded those same pics to me back in October... at that time he was still not fully decided on what all he was going to do in the way of engraving on the receiver... said he was going to dofull scroll and gold lighning bolts on the barrels and was considering a simple gold wire outline on the receiver or a full English style rose and scroll engraving.
Can't wait to see it all done.... sure looking good so far!! Keep us informed as it progresses!

As the proud owner of this gun; I can tell you that working with Anthony and Dan is pure pleasure. Visiting with them about how and what to do in the matter of engraving is uncanny.......they understand exactly what I am looking for when I talk to them.
These guys are simply the best.

Re: custom fox 16ga in progress
Dan currently has my 12 Gauge Fox SW in que to do as well. Hopefully (finger's crossed) the file will touch the metal next month. They also have the walnut I provided for the restocking as well. Engraving choices will be narrowed down as time rolls forward. Mr. Hurst has agreed to do the engraving when the time comes.
PS. Mr. Silvers had quite a bit to do with me using PGS as well.

Well, it's five years later. I am awaiting the finished product; thanks to Dan Rossiter, Ken Hurst, Robert Strosin, Hulet Million, Mark Larson, Anthony Patti, and others.
For some of you.....the gun will look like it should belong to a Pimp in New Orleans(Yes, my tastes changed in 5 years....too late)
I noticed one of the first postings here was 12/21/2009....and it's 12/22/2014.
I still absolutely believe Dan Rossiter is the best, and is a genius. I have come to believe Robert Strosin is a saint.
And, on the day I get the gun back, I will email before and after pictures.

Very nice Dan. I can't wait to see my 16-ga C Grade next month, after you finish touching it up a bit. Look forward to shooting on the sporting clay stands in the desert foothills just north of Vegas.
Re: custom fox 16ga in progress
In Dan's defense; he was NOT the holdup. It was the first two engravers: Then, Robert Strosin, Engraver; got ahold of the gun, finished it, and sent it back to Dan in ten days! I am just too easy going, and didn't scream at Ken Hurst. If it hadn't been for a helluva nice guy, it may still be sitting there at Ken's rusting away.
God Bless all here, and a Merry Christmas to all!!

I have seen the finished product in person and it is extremely nice and the quality from soup to nuts is outstanding. Be nice to see the pictures for sure.
Re: custom fox 16ga in progress
Received a message from Dan's Mother/Secretary today: He was working on the gun, so perhaps soon!
Thanks fellows,
Sam Ogle

I guess I'm confused. You thanked Ken Hurst, but then it seemed he was the hangup in your later post?Sam Ogle wrote:In Dan's defense; he was NOT the holdup.
