Quite a few people are using this address in their posts and it got me thinking about the original A.H. Fox Factory . There are only three pictures of the building on the website, and no pictures in the Macintosh book that I can recall, just some drawings. There seems to be quite a few Hunter Arms factory photos, which was torn down after the floor collapsed. But not many pictures of the Philly Fox building, at least that I have seen.

Strange enough using google maps you can now walk down the street and look at the builds. I couldn't figure out how to make this html into a picture but it looks like the Fox Factory building. Could it still be there? Or is this just my imagination. Check out this linK:

N 18th St & Windrim Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19141

If the link doesn't work you can put in the address and move around and look up from the corner, looks like the building and smoke stack.

Looks a lot more run down then when I was there taking pictures in 1986 or 7. Is that a for sale sign on "our" building? When I was there, Keystone Cable was occupying the old original factory building, but I don't recall who was in the WW-I expansion building on down North 18th Street to Courtland. The WW-I expansion building is pictured on the cover of the only Fox Reel Catalogue I've seen. That is where they built the Serbian Mauser and later Russian rifle barrels. Then they moved all that machinery to a new branch factory at Fifth Street and Montgomery Avenue to make Colt .45 barrels and parts while this factory turned out the Mark IV Very Flare Pistols.

Stenton Park, across North 18th Street was littered with thousands of tiny zip lock plastic bags, that I'm guessing each held a rock or two of crack cocaine before they were discarded in the park.
