None whatsoever to Ansley Fox if that's what you mean. See the chapter on this gun in Muderlak's new book "Shooting Flying". A.H. was a little boy when these guns were (briefly) built.

Re: Early early Fox??
The side-swing hammer doubles bearing the name Fox were the product of George H. Fox and the American Arms Co. of Boston. There have been a couple of good articles on these guns in The Gun Report and at least one in The Double Gun Journal. As I reacall they first came out in the mid-1870s and were made in a couple of variations and several grades until about 1890.

Re: Early early Fox??
I didn't realize there was ever a "side swing" double made in the U.S. They were in fashion in Europe for a time and one of the most common was an over and under made by Theopolis Britte and Company. Strangely enough ,I have a conventional 20 bore side by side custom built by him in 1931 with English steel barrels that during the research on the origins of this gun, I uncovered a lot of information on side swing guns. Brian, glad you are back and on the way out. My grandson was home on leave and is now back in Afganistan until February '10. He will not be released for 2 months after that for de-briefing. Home base is Ft. Richardson, AK. Lee.
