I walked 6.5 miles today in nasty nasty cover. She did 21 miles. Little girl has figured out Woodcock pretty well.

Tom, is Sophie hard to keep track of in heavy cover with her coloring?

Jim, I run a Chartreuse vest on her most of the time in thick nasty thorny cover to protect her and see her better. During our overlapping deer and bird season it can be a must. I also have Pro 550 plus Garmin system on her which helps keep tabs on her. Lastly, I run a beeper on point only mode. Sometimes its take all three things to keep track of her on nasty Woodcock cover. I passed up two shot on Woodcock yesterday because the cover was so ungodly thick that we didn't believe we would be able to find a downed bird even with her pretty decent retrieving ability.

Tom, great pic of Sophie! I to run an orange vest on Rosey as she is a darker tri-color and it protects her chest and belly. Just got back from SD pheasant hunt for 4 days of hunting. We’re both wore out!!
