Young Setter and a Lefever!!

Post by Mike of the Mountain »

Had Ms. Callie out again to train at Ringneck Ridge. Let’s just say if Doug Marcaida was evaluating her, he’d say “This dog, she will hunt!” She found, pointed, held on 6 birds. Didn’t retrieve the first four to hand but the last two she did. The Lefever 16g was 6 for 6. A very good day!! Thanks to John Piccotti for his help and expertise with the training.

Tom, we had 10"-12" of heavy wet snow last Thursday-Friday. Now we have below 20s daytime and single digit night time. Ugh!! And it's not even December.

Had Callie out again this week. 6 rock solid points, 6 retrieves and 6 shots/6 dead birds. She is going to be one heck of a dog!! BTW, this week was the 20g Lefever DS. SWEET!!

Such a beautiful setter, Mike. How much does Callie weigh?

Nice work Callie. You should have Mike ready for grouse by next fall. :D

"6 rock solid points, 6 retrieves and 6 shots/6 dead birds."

Well, brother, it's all downhill from that performance. That's what I call batting "a thousand". I think the Lefever likes you.

Well done, Callie. Try to keep Mike straight.

:D
