Re: Gun dogs in training!!
That one on the far left is about to spring I'm thinking. PS. Have always trained my pups not to eat until they are given the release command. Also taught them the Whoa command when they were puppies before they were allowed to go inside or outside of a door. The second one has kept them from running out the front door and into the street when we are off to go hunt. Dogs are smarter then some people IMO.

It's funny that you should say that John. About a month ago I had both my labs in to my vet for a check up before heading to SD for my annual hunt. just a pre-season once over. As I was sitting in the waiting room a very nice lady with her little Mexican yapper in hand commented on how skinny my dogs were. I told her thank you for the compliment as that's how Labs should look and that I really feel bad for fat Labs. Her dog looked like a fat sausage.
Owning a Fox is not a spectator sport.

I was in The local Ace Hardware store yesterday and noticed a gray haired gentleman with a large dog on a leash. He had on hunting pants and boots.. They wound up next to me in the check out line. He said the dog was a cross between a chestier and a chocolate. It looked like a hundred pound dog. He then asked me if his dog looked fat. Honesty is sometimes not the best policy and I said no. He replied “tell that to my vet”. If he liked the dog well enough to take it shopping he should listen to his vet!
