Today's tires probably wouldn't last much longer on 1922 roads. The gas mileage is astounding for a car this big. I don't know that much about early oil consumption, but today, I solve that problem by using thicker oil. My 454 Suburban would throw a quart of 10W30 every 1000 miles, but when fed 50 weight, it didn't burn a pint between 10,000 mile changes.
