Wow, nice blank there Mike. Talk about straight grain through the wrist! Did I miss a post on the gun that will be accepting this? Are you just updating wood, or something more involved?

Re: Blank for project Fox!!
Having my 1st SW turned into a D grade. Geoffroy Gournet is doing the engraving (English Setter on the bottom, grouse and pheasants on the sides) and Dan Rositter will be doing the metal (Beckeresque)and stock work (I love hand rubbed oil). 12g gun. Gonna be a clays gun, IC/M, long splinter forend, French coin receiver. Non-wear areas should have a trace of case color left. Oh, skeleton and checkered butt. SWEET!!!!!

I know must of Dan's wood inventory, but I missed that one somehow. Perfect looking blank for a D grade Fox IMO. Are you having it engraved like and early D or a late D? Just curious.

These are not images of my gun, but images of the D grade that Geoffroy will be using to create my custom Fox.
Looks like late engraving to me. I like this bold style better than the fine line style.

Sweet! I have always believed that .010/.020......010/.025 could handle just about any clay on the planet, including the French Champagne of FITASC. And the barrel length is??????
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

A sweet swingin' and beautifully balance 28". That's the gun I shot at HHHSC in 2013 and at the '13 Vintage Cup.

Tool Dude, don't forget, all of my sub-gauge guns are 28" or less too. Even my Win M21 is 28". My Fox A and CE are 30" and the Parker DH is 30". If the gun is balanced it doesn't really matter. Mostly bbl length is a preference not a necessity anymore.

Yup....I guess I'm just a dinosaur. Like surfing and snow skiing....long stuff morphed into short stuff. I'm sure Churchill knew what he was doing with those 25's but the day I wrapped my hands 'round my 32" U.K. Browning 325, like Ralphie said, "all was right with the world!" You be sure to let me know how you like those 28's on next year's 90- yard Bo-Whoop Battue!!!

Tool Man tries a Light Cahill at evening tonight, hoping for a rise from .....
Naah, just to repeat what you wrote in that email a few days ago, he'd have to be built like the Hunchback of Notre Dame to shoot something like that. I'm still rolling on the floor and laughing.

A 26" XE with 3 1/2 inches of drop? If Faulds wants another one, I know where he can find it.
