Michigan's Duck Opener in the U.P.
This past weekend was the duck opener in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and I'm happy to report that the family made it back up there again. Just like last year, there was my dad, my brother, my sister, her husband, their son and his girlfriend. Dad didn't kill anything, but he got up at 3:30 and drove the boat to the blind. We managed to get 13 ducks and 2 geese among the 7 of us. I used my 1914 B/C Hybrid which did a great job on 2 ring necks, 1 mallard and a goose. For what it's worth, this is the 4th year that I've knocked down a goose with a 1 oz., 2 1/2" load. You can do it, but they have to be close.
Have I mentioned that I love this Fox? Just carrying it makes me happy.-
