Caught a beautiful verse the other night on a TV ad lauding our veterans:

"OUR FLAG STILL WAVES BECAUSE YOU NEVER WAVERED"

Wow.......how do you top that?

Thanks to those who appreciate veterans. This veteran, 50 years later, also still thanks the Army for the things
it did for me, particularly maturity and education.

Sincere thanks to John and everyone for remembering us.

And exactly like Ed said above. For me it was the Navy and it's been 63 years.

Thank you for recognizing me as a Veteran. U.S. Army 1967 to 1969, the most fun time to be an enlisted soldier.

I was in the National Guard in the late sixties and seventies. I certainly don’t consider myself a hero. Some units were called to Vietnam and others to quell student riots. Soldiers weren’t always appreciated at that time but stores closed to honor our countries veterans. My grandfather fought in WWI and my father served on WWII. Our store always closed. I usually took the day to hunt pheasants but always remembered the sacrifices of others. It is good to remember why we have what we do. Sorry about the misspelling of veteran, typo. John

I did 30 years 1 month and 8 days. Thats what my retirement orders say!!
went in a PFC, retired as an LTC
3 years in Afghanistan, 1 Year in Iraq.
I wouldnt trade a minute of it.
Most fun you can have with your clothes on. even with the not so good time's and the close calls. it was worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat
