A very nice catch Craig; case colors are so nice and vibrant.

Just for readers' comparison of colors here's an A Grade s/n 256xx that has somewhat different colors, probably stored in a cabinet in the light of day. Breech faces show she's likely unfired or virtually so. This Fox is a 32-incher with 2-weight (marked) barrels and choked tight Full on both tubes. Buttplate gun. Those who will be at the Northeast SxS in June can see her at my tables.

Craig,
Excellent example of original CC’s. Always amazing to find a gun that has survived in that shape....like they were forgotten with time! Would you let us know DOM? Frank, to your point it’s not only handling that can wear/lesson CC’s.

The A grade has a DAC of 2 3/8". Very unusual high dimensions. I have a SF that letters 1 1/4" x 2 1/8" Pictures below has nice CC also. About the highest dimensions found SF in the records and not many were made that way. Would make an awesome pigeon gun!!
