Stock finish has been discussed many times and a search of subjects using the forum search function should results in many hits. There is disagreement but many believe the later Sterlingworth, Grade A and Grade B guns were finished with spray lacquer like Dupont Duco. Early (pre 1920) Sterlingworths, Grade A and Grade B may have been finished with shellac. Guns C and above were oil finished.
