Lacquer for case colors

Post by bb_shot »

I plan on using a spray lacquer to protect case colors on an english gun. I think I've settled on the Mohawk brand for brass instruments. The product is water clear and non yellowing. I just am not sure whether I should go with matte, satin, or gloss. I believe gloss may be to much sheen.

I used some of that stuff this week to seal some damascus and twist barrels with great success. Goes on easy, nice sheen, very clear.
