What a classic!! That one will be a real show-stopper in Calgary next year!! Me thinks the second set of barrels were 30" and used more often. You have to wonder how so many barrels ever got separated from the mother ship?? Perhaps a wee bit too much Brooklyn Handicap après hunt?? Beautiful Fox.
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

Beautiful gun. I have to believe that receiver 1515 made the trip from Wayne & Bristol Streets to North 18th Street and Windrim Avenue and was finished up in 1907 or 8 or even later. The patent date roll stamp on the watertable includes the Philadelphia Arms Co. patent dates that wouldn't appear on a gun made in 1905 or 6. I would expect the three-date roll-stamp on a gun in that serial number range.

Guns into the 14xxx range were still using the three-date roll-stamp --

My BE-Grade 15393 has the five-date patent date roll-stamp.

An absolutely gorgeous gun Jason. And extra special where it came from.
