Re: Banner Woodcock Day

Outstanding, Roger! That is a REALLY big female; I've got a European woodcock I shot in Scotland mounted on my wall and its not really all that much bigger than the one you bagged! Sixty-some degrees here today in NOVA and my covers await....Kevin

Re: My new to me 16g Sterlingworth

Fireman, I can also recommend Mike Orlen highly. He reworked the rib extension, extractor rims, and ejector alignment on an HE Fox for me years ago to correct a horrible amateur welding job someone had done to get the gun to close and open properly again. Kevin

Re: Rosie running in SD!

Great pics and story! Its been years since I had an opportunity for Phez and Sharpies in SD. Last time we hunted a combination of public and private lands south of Pierre down near Murdo, Presho and White River. Phez are always exciting but I have to say Sharptails are my ultimate favorite birds of ...

Re: Skeet and Upland

FWIW, I think the SKUGG in 16 ga. 26" version is the finest grouse gun ever designed and built. Light, fast handling, most are bored wide open (.004-6" RB, .010-12" LB), they are ideal for the dense coverts grouse and woodcock prefer. Kevin

Re: Fox SBT

"Dog", contact Breck Gorman. He repaired the rib on my Fox J Grade SBT and did an outstanding job. I was shooting trap with it one day at our local club and noticed that the ivory bead at the muzzle was no longer there. Apparently the solder broke at the first rib stanchion (post), the one...

Re: NY Grouse Opener / What size shot?

For early season with lots of leaf canopy still up on the trees, I use #7 1/2 in the right barrel and #6s in the left out of my 16 ga. SKUGG. It is choked .005 right and .011 left and weighs 6 lbs. 2 oz. I have found it to be the ideal grouse gun; easy to carry all day and deadly effective at sensib...

Re: AHFCA Booth at the VGC 2022

Before that 32-inch 20-gauge lived at Dana's it lived in Cape Girardeau. I first handled it at Pop Headrick's house. Dave, do you recall when (what year) that was? Seems a number of very desirable Foxes 'migrated' from the Headrick's to Dana's collection over time, fortunately for us. Thanks, Kevin
