Re: NJ second season woodcock opener today.

Right you are Frank!

Hopefully that will change in the future.

I have a 3.5 hour drive home so I usually make an Irish exit just before the adult beverages begin to flow.

I'll need stock up on the Brooklyn Handicap, Catawba, Black **** Gin, Beaver Dam Punch, Tree Top Tall, and Saratoga Sours.

Re: NJ second season woodcock opener today.

Great pictures Roger. You are the king of woodcock hunting! Jeff, I'm just a duffer that happens to live near some historically productive woodcock coverts along their migration route. The area has not changed all that much since I was a kid. Hopefully, it will still be that way for the next genera...

NJ second season woodcock opener today.

The second season in NJ's south zone opened today and I skipped my company Christmas party and made the drive to meet up with a couple of buddies. We hit some coverts that we had left alone in the early season that were along the Delaware bay that we knew would produce as the weather got colder. We ...

Yeah, we both regret selling that one! LOL!

I knew you would know which one I was talking about.

That gun sure was in great condition.

Yeah, I had one just like it that I regret selling. It was a superb example of an early second generation A.

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??

Thanks Fred.

I've slowed down a bit and sold off a bunch of stuff.

Just trying to keep the stuff I use and shoot well.

Re: Baker Gun and Forge Batavia NY 12 Gauge R Grade Damascus

That's a dandy one Bill.

I've had a few Bakers over the years but they have all gone down the road of commerce, none of which were as nice as this example.

Great acquisition!

Re: What is your favorite Sterlingworth??

I have a bunch of upgrades and several untouched versions too, but I'll stick to almost original Sterlingworth's. I have a pair, one 16, and one 20 that were restored by other folks that I was able to pick up over the years. One is a verified Turnbull color job, the other is a dead ringer, so who kn...

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

Here are pictures of my nose down 12-gauge XE and my nose up 16-gauge XE. The 12-gauge nose down is much deeper, which I like. https://live.staticflickr.com/7463/15443037834_547fd4a516_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49253007213_d99bd96011_z.jpg I liked it so much, that is why I had Geoffr...

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

If I remember correctly, the balance of the engraving on the nose down XE Foxes has a much deeper cut than the typical nose up version.

This is one of the reasons that they are so desirable.

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

I need to buy a two barrel case for my custom set for 28 and 30 inches.

I bought the leather label from CSMC already but that is it. I'm taking my time.

Re: Epic Woodcock opener!

I wish I could say it was a pristine example with a period peep sight but it is what it is. I found it with the scope and extra holes in the receiver.
