8 gauge Lindner Daly
Why let Steggy (Jeff) have all the fun at Hauseman's this June! Back in November I dropped a huge clue but nobody picked up on it. I said I was "Jone's-ing" for some 8 gauge ammo in Steggy's thread about his gun "Sally", so here is my introduction to "Mrs. Jones". She's...

Re: 1927 Fox Sterlingworth with 24 and 32 inch barrels
24 inches would make a heck of a grouse or woodcock gun as long as you could shoot it with such short barrels.
The shortest I've got is a 25 inch Ithaca/SKB 280E in 20 gauge choked IC/IC which is a great rainy day gun and all around good bunny gun.

Tom, you will be styling in high cotton with that hat!
It will be good for tower shoots and preserve birds too.

Re: Not a vintage gun, but a vintage style hat!
Roger where would one find that type of hat? I can see that working well out west hunting Quail or Pheasants. Woodcock cover in Va no way. Tom, my wife said she bought and returned one that was over $100 because it was junk. This one was a very reasonable $25.99! My size was on the cusp between a l...

Yeah, the band is going to get an upgrade eventually. Feathers are certainly in order too.

Not a vintage gun, but a vintage style hat!
I've wanted a Fedora style hunting hat for a long time. I've always admired old photos with hunters wearing their Fedoras. I can't picture my paternal grandfather without one. He wore one every day of his adult life. My wife gave me this today and apologized that it did not get here for Christmas. I...

Re: Grouse Gun
Jeff, I've seen many a Sauer that have that "Foxish" look to them from 20 paces. That one does also. It's all in the contours of the frame. I realize the internals are completely different. Would it be a heresy to say that maybe Ansley took inspiration from Sauer back in the day? Especiall...

Tom, you always set your pictures up nicely!
I'm a little more ham-handed when it comes to setting things up for the shot.

Re: 'Timberdoodelin' with Reynard
Roger, Great report on the timberdoodle chase. Wow, all three guns being 16 gauge makes for a perfect woodcock hunt!! Love the intensity of your Britt! Very stylish! Well done! I wish the Britts were mine! They belong to my friend Jimmie. Here is the best picture of the day. She pointed that doodle...

Re: 'Timberdoodelin' with Reynard
Thanks for sharing the pictures Roger, Love those Brits, orange and white is my favorite, Emma looks good! My son and I were going after grouse today, I thought of you finding woodcock over there in Jersey. With these warm tempatures, they're probably some in PA, what are your thoughts? Thanks, Sta...

'Timberdoodelin' with Reynard
The gang and I got out for another woodcock hunt before the Christmas Holidays mess things up for us what with family obligations, gift giving, keeping up traditions, and gourmet meals and other such nonsense during hunting season. It was a good time. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Faith had ...
