Re: BARRELS NOT GUARANTEED-SEE TAG

Dave, was the guarantee message stamped on 20 gauge Super Foxes? If so, what was the guarantee that was stated?

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

You are right about that. The shells shipped to Henry for Nash's use were obviously gratis. Two or more cases of the 1 3/8 ounce Lubaloy loads sat in Henry's garage from 1948 to just a few years ago. Apparently, Henry and Doc were not fond of these loads.

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

Dave, thanks for this trip into the modern age. I would rather go back to $2.50 paper shells. How much did Nash pay for his last case of 1 3/8 ounce Lubaloy shells? I guess you have told us before.

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

My Super Target boxes are yellow with red and blue lettering, RT12M9. No description of crimp, but "Exclusive Sealed Gas Chamber" on right side of box.

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

I, like you, Dave, am more taken with the Western brand than Winchester, but I have a question. I have a full cardboard case, one shell short, of Winchester Ranger, Super Target, skeet loads, paper shells. I have not turned the case over to look for clues. What can you tell us about those loads? The...

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

As far as the wood crate versus cardboard case, here is my experience. In about 1960, I was shooting at the Bucks County Shooting Association in Chalfont, Pennsylvania and saw wood crates that had just been delivered to the club and shells were being sold out of them. The club was a pigeon club and ...

Re: Lubaloy Super-Trap Shells

My case is not prefaced with an L, it is suffixed with an L, P374L, not like on the wooden 10 gauge case pictured. The date is not an interpretation of the lot number, but an actual date stamp on the bottom of the box, "11-48", the month Bo Whoop was lost. The top of the case was stenciled...

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

As you know, the Bartholomew HE 20 was listed without a serial number, and Bart has passed away, so the gun is in the wind, or is it? I think I know, but good luck prying it loose.

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

The single barrel case the fellow advertises is also max 35", like my cases. He is the same guy I bought my cases from years ago.

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

I would like to find an HE 20 . I tried to buy Henry Bartholomew's HE 20, but by the time I replied to Bart's list of Henry's guns for sale, the 20 was gone. I don't know who bought it. Does anyone know?

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

Stan, I revised my post to say that these cases, at least mine, will NOT accommodate 36" barrels. They are about an inch too short. I measured both one barrel and two barrel cases. They may be making a 36" case now, but I don't know that, or who sells them. They are wide enough in the barr...

Re: What's on your Fox shopping list???

Stan, the cases that I bought easily accommodate 35" barrels. When I get a few minutes, I'll look at one and measure. I think they come in one barrel and two barrel style. I don't know where they're made.
