Re: 1914 AH Fox 20 Guage

Back in the day quite a circle of Seattle well-heeled sportsmen that orbited around Joshua Green, including the fire chief, judges, artists and other leading businessmen, had special ordered Ansley H. Fox 20-gauge guns with 30-inch barrels. They did a lot of their hunting at their club near Toppenis...

Re: 1914 AH Fox 20 Guage

Dues paying members get a jpeg of one card per year as a membership benefit and can get more for $25 via paypal. A few years ago, Sav...

Re: Fox model B YOM?

From the 1939 introduction of the Model B to 1946 they have the Utica address on the barrels. In 1947 Savage consolidated their arms making operations at their old J. Stevens factories at Chicopee Falls, Mass. and the plant at Utica went to making products for the post-war housing boom. From 1949 to...

Probably 1907 or 8, but only about ten production cards below 9640 survive.

In this picture in The Upland Shooting Life, it looks like a Fajen or Bishop restocked Sterlingworth.

Re: Do You Remember Your First Time?

At one of the Remington Society Seminars that I attended one of the presenters had some of the shipping records for Schuyler, Hartley & Graham. Those records showed they shipped hundreds of the converted Springfields to St Louis and Kansas City dealers and other points west for every Remington, ...

Re: Do You Remember Your First Time?

My family also has one of the real "guns that wone the west" as Jeff. The Civil War Springfield musket converted to a shotgun. IMG_0349.JPG Civil War Springfield altered to shotgun.jpg That is the gun the average sod buster had, not a $17 Winchester or Colt!! Ours had belonged to a family ...

Re: Do You Remember Your First Time?

I do not remember my first shooting. My parents didn't believe kids treated BB guns and air rifles with enough respect, so I never got one. My first rifle was a Winchester Model 67 single shot .22LR that my father had dressed up by his uncle Art, a Seattle area gunsmith, with a black forearm tip, gr...

Re: 1910

Beginning with the 1911 A.H. Fox Gun Co. Campfire Catalog they began putting the List Price and Net Price in the catalogs -- 1911 Campfire Catalogue No. 24 pg 5.jpeg This is probably more minutia than anybody wants, but I misspoke above. Actually, in that I don't have a 1909 (No. 22) or 1910 (No. 2...
